Who we are and why we started
Schoolmix began with a simple observation. Schools, parents and children all want largely the same thing, a bit more connection, a bit more support, and a few more chances for children to enjoy being children. Yet so much of that gets lost in the day to day pressure of running a school or a household.
We're a community interest organisation, which means we exist to serve our community rather than to turn a profit. Every event we run and every resource we put together is aimed squarely at making school life a bit warmer and more connected, for everyone involved.
We're still a small, growing organisation, led by one person with a lot of help from the teachers, parents and volunteers around us. That means we can move quickly, listen properly, and change direction when something isn't working, without layers of process getting in the way.
