Behind Schoolmix
Schoolmix is run day to day by one person, with a growing circle of teachers, parents and volunteers who give their time to help events happen and ideas take shape. We're not a large organisation with departments and committees, we're closer to a community effort that happens to have a website.
That's by design. We wanted Schoolmix to stay close to the people it's actually for, rather than growing into something that loses touch with the playground and the staffroom. Decisions get made quickly, feedback gets acted on, and if something isn't working, we change it rather than defending it.
Most of the people involved found their way here because they wanted to help with something specific, an event, a resource, a bit of local knowledge, and stayed because it turned into something they cared about.
